IP is the abbreviation of Ingress Protection. IP indicates to what extent a product is dust and waterproof. Products with a low IP value such as IP20 value are usually used for indoor applications in dry rooms. With a low IP value, the product is not or less well protected against the penetration of water and moisture.
A product with a minimum IP44 value is good as garden lighting. If you want a complete water and dust resistant product then an IP65 value is suitable for the shower or bathroom.
